Toyota Planning Some Style Innovations
Long known as a manufacturer offering impeccable, resilient and sturdy designs, Toyota plans to release a breed of new cars with a stylish spin and desirable design.
While it is the no-fuss approach that’s partly responsible for the continuing success of the Toyota brand, the company has decided to shake up the design process and add a selection of funky new exteriors to its stable.
Kevin Hunter, the President of Toyota’s CALTY Design Research department, has revealed that the manufacturer plans to take a new approach to design in the future. Up until now, he hinted that the design had been largely lead by consumer desires. However, speaking to Auto Evolution, he revealed that Toyota felt it was time to innovate.
The popular manufacturer has decided that, while it will continue to listen to the consumer, it will also drive forward with some creative design. It aims to predict the kind of cars people will want to be driving five years in the future.
CALTY is the department responsible for a range of different projects, including experimental concepts, advanced, competition and production design for the Toyota, Lexus and Scion brands
